Admission to Pre-IB at Rødkilde Gymnasium

Pre-IB requirements

To apply for Pre-IB at Rødkilde Gymnasium, students must be at least 15 years old by the start of the programme in August and must have completed 9-10 years of schooling, depending on their educational background, not including pre-school (børnehaveklasse).

Students from the Danish folkeskole who have spent an additional year at a Danish efterskole or in an exchange programme must still apply for Pre-IB.

Students with an international background are also welcome to apply. Depending on their previous education, some may be eligible to begin directly in the IB Diploma Programme, which will first be offered at Rødkilde Gymnasium in August 2028.

Required documents

Applicants must submit the following documents:

01 their most recent report card
02 a copy of their latest exam results, if available
03 a letter of recommendation from their current or most recent school
04 a personal statement written in English of no more than one page describing their background, interests, future plans, and reasons for applying to the Pre-IB programme at Rødkilde Gymnasium
05 a photocopy of one of the following: – a passport page showing photo and personal details – an EU residence document or residence permit – or a Danish Health Insurance Card (Sundhedskort)

Rødkilde Gymnasium is a candidate school* for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students.

Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
