About Rødkilde Gymnasium
Rødkilde Gymnasium is Vejle's oldest upper secondary school. With approximately 750 students and 80 dedicated teachers, Rødkilde Gymnasium offers an educational environment where academic excellence and genuine community go hand in hand. Rødkilde Gymnasium also holds UNESCO World Goals School status and Elite Sports Gymnasium accreditation.

Our engaged teachers meet students where they are academically and guide them toward their full potential. We offer specialised tracks for talented and driven students, and alongside the Danish stx diploma, students can pursue internationally recognised certifications and from the academic year 2027/28 also our very own Pre-IB. The results speak for themselves. Our grade point average consistently exceeds the national average, and our graduates transition to higher education at above-average rates.
A Close-Knit Community
At 750 students, we are intentionally mid-sized, large enough to offer breadth, yet small enough that faces become familiar. New classes bond quickly, and students across all three years come together at celebrations and school-wide gatherings and assemblies. This sense of belonging is both felt and measured. In the Danish Ministry of Children and Education's annual well-being survey, Rødkilde consistently ranks among the top ten STX schools nationwide.
Thoughtful Engagement with the World
We educate students not only to excel academically, but to engage critically with society and the challenges of our time. Debate, well-reasoned arguments, and diverse perspectives make all of us wiser. Rødkilde expects commitment and rewards it generously. Historically, this ethos translates into low absence and high engagement in coursework, extracurricular activities, and social events.
A Beautiful Setting
Rødkilde enjoys a striking location. The fjord, the forest, and the centre of Vejle are our neighbours, and they find their way into our teaching through marine biology field studies, partnerships with local businesses, and more.
Rødkilde Gymnasium is a candidate school* for the Diploma Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. IB World Schools share a common philosophy- a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education- that we believe is important for our students.
Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme (DP), or the Career-related Programme (CP).
